The Skin Cancer Foundation’s anti-tanning PSA campaign will be displayed in Rockefeller Center for the month of August. The display is being funded by a donation from the preventative healthcare company EHE International.

The display features the “Go with Your Own Glow” campaign, which discourages tanning behaviors and encourages women to embrace their natural skin tone. The campaign was created in 2008 in partnership with advertising agency Laughlin Constable. One of the illsutrated ads are shown above. View the others at SkinCancer.org.

It features print public service advertisements, including an elegant woman in a floor-length gown is walking on a red carpet, as if she’s attending a Hollywood premiere. To convey the message that tanned skin is passé, the image is supported by the tagline, “Tanning’s fifteen minutes are over. Let your inner health, beauty, and vitality shine through.”

Deborah S. Sarnoff, MD, Senior Vice President of The Skin Cancer Foundation commented, “A tan, whether it’s obtained in a tanning bed or on the beach is dangerous and comes with consequences, including premature aging and an increased skin cancer risk. We would like to thank EHE International for giving us this great opportunity for the second year in a row. This generous donation allows the Foundation to educate a vast and diverse audience about the dangers of tanning.”

Deborah McKeever, President of EHE International, added, “We are proud to once again support The Skin Cancer Foundation’s efforts to bring attention to dangerous tanning behaviors. Together, we hope to spread awareness and reduce incidence of the world’s most common cancer.”
